How Much Does God Love Us?

How much does God love us? God loves us more than we can know. He died for us to set us free from sin that we may live a new life. . He also knew we needed to know how much He loved us just to wake us up. Only by stretching out his arms to die for us on the Cross could we possibly understand how much love he had for us. He drew us in.

In one shocking act, he showed his love and mercy toward us who are still sinners while at the same time showing how much our sinfulness needed justification and not just “who cares”.

So God maintained his holiness by dying for us when he did not deserve to die in any way. Thus we are condemned at the Cross and know we are sinners.

By God’s plan, in the same moment, we are shown how God loves us just as we are. He died for us while we were still his enemies.

How Much Does God Love Us? The World Cannot Hold It

Grace and condemnation in one shocking death to save us all. He knew we could never be good enough to match his holiness, but died to make it right for all who believe and accept this great a love. God made this great a salvation from our guilt and shame.

Oh, how we need the Cross.  As humans, we have pride that God hates. We also have low self esteem. Most people are a mix of low self esteem and pride.

At the Cross, we cannot be proud, and we cannot have low self esteem, for we find absolute love to cure our low self esteem. If our creator loves us this much, then what does the world’s condemnation matter? God knows better who we are and loves us still. God set free from two hateful burdens in one cruel death if we can receive this in faith and a grateful heart.

A grateful heart can set us on a path to loves others who do not deserve it even as we did not deserve God’s love. It makes God smile. We dod not obey God out of fear, but rather our of love and faith that He know best and has our best interests in mind along with His. Paul left this thought to the Thessalonians:

He died for us so that, whether we are awake or asleep, we may live together with him.
