So Men, What Use is Marriage?

Jim March 23, 2024 Culture/Sociology Issues, Family Issues, Theology

men what use is marriage

Men What is Marriage? God had a plan, but it is hard to see in the selfishness of our lives. Women tend to civilize us if we look at it one way. Let’s look at what God says about this.

The Bible begins in Genesis 2:24 saying:

That is why a man leaves his father and mother and is united to his wife, and they become one flesh.

Jesus says divorce is wrong:

4 “Haven’t you read,” he replied, “that at the beginning the Creator ‘made them male and female,’[a] 5 and said, ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh’[b]? 6 So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.”

7 “Why then,” they asked, “did Moses command that a man give his wife a certificate of divorce and send her away?”

8 Jesus replied, “Moses permitted you to divorce your wives because your hearts were hard. But it was not this way from the beginning. 9 I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another woman commits adultery.”

The Apostle Paul said 4 times that men should love their wives, and said it should be like Jesus loved the church.

This all means that God has something great in marriage, and it is not just a good way to raise children.

When women get mad at their husbands, they mean they need love and understanding from their husband. Remember, we need to love them like Jesus loves the church. Believe that God has something deeply meaningful for us.

Men-What is Marriage? A Challenge That Brings Us So Much

They are mad as they have been hurt and feel crisis as doubt they are lovely. We need to see them as cute and reasonable and indeed fighting for the relationship. We need to be quite strong to love our wives as softly as this. They are ready for us to be vulnerable and strong. Try and try again. Let us men see and comfort our wives in their crisis of anger. When we can do this, we can tame the lion, and they will take care of us. They are amazing.  Trouble, means we have not added enough love meaning seeing our wives as cute and reasonable according to God’s design.

We also must stop balancing our wives stance on all issues with an opposite strong move. Your children do not need you to balance.  They need you to come to the middle and entice your dear wife to try to come more toward the middle as well. This is infinitely better then going farther right every time your wife veers left as it were. See her. God made her to be loved. God made her amazing.

Learning how to relate closely with our spouse helps us with all our relationships.  Marriage is a wonderful training ground when we are ready for the wealth it brings us in maturing us relationally and personally.

We read so many books in school to learn our trade and about chemistry and history. How many books have we read about marriage? How many about leading a family?   Let’s put some focus here.

We need to have faith in what the Bible says. It does not not lead us wrong when it says commit to marriage. We need to dig deeper.
