How Can We Add Meaning to Life?

Jim March 10, 2024 About Me, Church Work, Theology

add meaning to life?
Do they add meaning to life?

Investing in a world that is perishable takes the life out of everyone unless they convince themselves that the perishable is imperishable. Without God’s great commission, we tend to live our lives trying to be happy. It feels empty. Let’s add meaning to life.

My college life was filled with outreach work to fill the world with more mature Christians. We rarely succeeded in bringing people to faith, but it was exciting times making disciples. During early married life, my wife and I were deep in ministry work while I held a full time job, and we quickly added three kids. Our main task turned toward our kids, and we did not care for our marriage enough.  We started to do less and were less active though still in the fight as it were.

First step for a married person is to make all efforts to grow close to the one we married. Vulnerability will be a key step.

Now, On To Add Meaning to Life

Throughout, we need to seek God to save us from our meaningless life and help us to gain back our first love. May we have passion to spread the good news. For this world and everything in it will perish. But, God’s kingdom is eternal. God loves this world and wants more and more people to come into his Kingdom.

Pray to God for the path to seek people and help people to grow as disciples.  This is so valuable and has eternal meaning. Big projects will all fall someday, but God’s kingdom will have no end. Pray for those that do not know him. Love the lost and love those new in faith. May they find God even as we have that God’s kingdom might grow.

Who do we know that needs God and does not have Him? Can we call the person who needs encouragement and arrive as fellow travelers? Can we have compassion for the lost and not judge them. They have a judge in God. God will lead them past his judgement when you partner with the Lord.

By faith, we are reborn and already in the Kingdom. Let’s seek to fill our imperishable Kingdom and put the kingdoms of this world far below.
