Love The Lost Like Jesus

Jim May 22, 2023 Church Work, Culture/Sociology Issues, Theology

love the lost by johnhainLove the lost is certainly a command from God, God says to love enemies and shows us some things.

Among his disciples, he had zealots who were all about hate and tax collectors who were all about power and money. He welcomed prostitutes and praised non Jews.

The only people he condemned were the religious leaders.

In the post modern world, a lot of people need love. How hard would life have to be before anyone would face be trans gender. These people do not need our scorn, and they certainly do not need us to tell them they are wrong. They need us to love them. God will lead them to light and change without our judgement. See also Love is Dynamic.

LGBT is a sign of the deep hurt and deep lostness of our world. I remember the darkness of my time before faith. It is a bad thing and leaves us in a dark world.  It often leads to a really shallow life as deeper thoughts hurt to much. See also God loves the Nations.

Others among the lost are more real than we are, and have a hard time connecting with believers.  They see we  are not aware of how we are filtering and also pretending.  Many of us Christians do even though unaware.

Love the Lost Like Jesus with Openness and Compassion

God help us to be open as Christians. May we as children who are loved by God Almighty be compassionate to those who are not like us even though it is beyond comprehension. We really need God every step of the way, We need to seek a team. Then, do everything we can to hear and stay with God’s heart.

We also cannot be a doormat but be real to express some of our sorrow and disappointment along the path. Only with God and looking ahead can we make it. Be sure, the lost need love just like we all do. May we be a vessel to receive God’s love that we can then pass on to a hurting world. Here is a song to give us a boost: Love them like Jesus.
