Kingdom of God Culture Comparison
The Bible says we are citizens of the Kingdom of God. What is Kingdom of God culture?
First, what is American culture?
Americans love freedom, and personal independence even personal autonomy. Individualism is a high value. We like change and trying new things andhave the confidence to invent and support totally new things. Americans love equality, and that is why we say America is a land of opportunity for migrants. You are what you do. Any poor migrant can come to America and through hard work build a life for his family in peace and safety. America has a good legal system. We value clear laws and rules. We value optimism and positive thinking.
As comparison, what is Chinese culture?
Chinese culture values groups and family cohesion. It values diligence and facing hardship through continued hard work. The goal is to fit in and the culture pushes people hard fo fit in to a conservative, pragmatic, pessimistic way of seeing life. They highly value harmony. Chinese people are not spiritual but are attracted to luck and gambling.
How about the Kingdom of God Culture?
Love especially for downtrodden and sinners, plus love for all. We also have joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self control. Ah, selfless love. Value for the unseen more than the seen. God champions Faith, Hope, and Love. Jesus came filled with Grace and Truth. Citizens are also children of God, priests, and a holy nation. Our Heavenly Father also highly values thankfulness and spiritually led relationship. Also, see Faith Without Religion Who Started That?
The Chinese and Americans both have some ideas close to the values of the Kingdom. I think we all can see that the kingdom of God is more pure.
I think when Hollywood, politicians, marketers, or preachers speak to Americans and carefully hit the American hot button issues, they can be very successful.
Chinese people of the same type also get far.
God did not call us to Americanize or Sinisize our faith, but it happens naturally. We must live for God like citizens of the Kingdom of God we are. Both these countries need God’s love, His deep, deep love Each has other needs like grace and hope. May we also live to spread grace and truth.
