Who We Are Why Are We Alive

Jim July 3, 2023 Culture/Sociology Issues

Who are weWho we are is quite a question. Why we are alive is yet another big issue, and here I am to speak to such issues here.

Shockingly, none us knows ourselves best.  Jesus in passing said,

And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered.

I do not know myself that well or even care to try to count my hair, but Jesus knows even this about me. His words are clear. He is the only one to know us completely.

So, to know who we are, we need to go back to God.

He knows and thankfully, we can see that he also cares. Glorious.

We live to make him smile. When we come to him in faith and contrition, he makes us his children. Then, just as small children can make parents smile, cry and laugh, so is God who made us in his image.

As parents love to provide for their children, so does God love to provide for his children.

God tells us to spread his love and help people to know him.  He does not want to leave us with a purposeless life. When we leave the earth, we enter into his heavenly kingdom. This earth will ultimately be destroyed. Nothing here will be left, No significance at all. But our efforts to help people enter the kingdom have eternal significance beyond this doomed planet.

Who Are We? Why Are We Alive?  So Significant

Thank you God for something of eternal significance for us here in the life on earth.

We are alive to make God smile. We have a purpose from God to reach the world for him. That involves talking to and loving people far from God , helping those nearer and assisting those already decided.

All along the spectrum we can assist people to take one step forward. See I Peter 3:15

But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect

Never try to make people hear all the good news in one try. People need a drinking fountain and not a fire hose.
