Our Creator God is Fabulous

Our Creator God is fabulous.  He did not want us to live in fear. We could never earn his favor, so he worked to change the relationship between Creator and creation.

Naturally the Creator can destroy or alter his creation anyway he sees fit.  That is how I am with any blog I make. I can change or destroy, and I am free to do it. The Creator who can make someone like me can also make me so I am more like a dog that always wants to make him happy. Why would I make and nurture a being who always mad me unhappy like humans make God? Why doesn’t he just destroy all of us? He could start over. It would be quite reasonable.

Who is this God who makes a sentient being like us who can deny Him? Humans give birth to other humans who we hope will love and honor and even care for us. Sometimes, they defy us.  However, we are not their Creator, so society does not let us destroy them and start over. A Creator has this power over his creation.

Our Creator God is Fabulous and Much More

Yet, we see that rain falls on the good and bad people. Why doesn’t he just crush the bad children with cancer and horrible accidents to make his creation fall in line. Some would still defy him and be ruined. Others would cower in fear and hate him. What kind of a creation would that be? Definitely a Creator God could choose that path.

God’s love is a central aspect of who he is. He does not deny himself.  Shockingly enough our Creator chooses to love those who do not love him with good things.

Then, he makes the unimaginable step of choosing to not only die but die a horrible death to bring us back to him.  This act of love does show much in one act. He opens our eyes with a love so great. Further, God established his justice by dying in our place to cover our sin. Finally, he models grace even while he exacts justice. He turns our life and this world on its head.

Even more so, he desired that we should not cower in fear of not being good enough. He offers us love and forgiveness.  The result is we can love others from a point of love that God first loved us. Love has replaced fear as the central aspect of our relationship with God and even changed this world.

Who is the God who is so great that we live in awe? He is this creator God who by rights could just destroy us, but rather chose to love us to death even death on the cross.
