About God or Knowing God?

My youngest daughter and I have been reading the Great Divorce by CS Lewis recently. I was struck by how many ways we are deceived. I have often told my kids and others that the Bible is not meant to be a book of facts we learn but a place to know God. Despite that, I see that I know about God more then I Know and relate with Him.

“God, you are my God and the meaning, the hope and the love I have in this life is more than I could ever deserve. You are awesome beyond my ability to grasp. I worship you.”

So, I need to praise God more and not just learn about him. He is to be praised and thanked. My heart needs this more. God does not need this. I do. We all do.

We need to connect with God more deeply on his terms according to how He made us. He is the great I Am.  Let us lift Him high regularly. He is not just our vending machine to give us what we need on request

About God or Knowing God is a Big Difference

May we lift Him up with our voice toward Him and not just by our service. We need the both/and.

The devil’s purpose is by every trickery to keep us from our God.

Therefore, from the songs we sing, we need more that speak to God and not about Him. We need songs that extol him and not just comfort us.  Let us break through every hinderance that keeps us from our God. The most subtle and devastating are those that appear to be religious. Religion cannot save us. God does.  We need to connect directly with his holiness and power, and not our own May we lift him up.
