Examine My Heart- Let Us Draw Near to God

Jim July 5, 2026 About Me, Theology

let us draw near to God

Let us draw near to God. Lord, you know my heart better than I do. Examine my heart Lord and help me draw near to you

Like you, I am glad to stand with King David in Ps 139:

Search me, God, and know my heart;
test me and know my anxious thoughts.
24 See if there is any offensive way in me,
and lead me in the way everlasting.

Lord give me passion for you.

A song come into my head….”Open the eyes of my heart Lord, I want to see you…”

God is always near us. Can we overcome ourselves and draw near to Him?

We live in this world and see and hear and feel it 24/7 but more real then this world is the God who made it all.

God help us to break down our own barriers to more intimacy with you.

The evil spirits, the world system and our own flesh all push to blind our eyes to the most real thing amidst us.

Ecstatic meetings with God are not the meaning of our life, but living closer to Him day by day and moment by moment. How can we abide more with Him? Read the Bible more; open our hearts in prayer to him; connect with our fellow believers and outreach to our lost acquaintances.

Let Us Draw Near To God Every Way We Can

Read, meditate, memorize, hearing and study can all be used to get into the Bible.

Using all kinds of prayers –adoration, confession thanksgiving, and supplication.

Be vulnerable with trusted friends to gain true fellowship

And always be ready to share with everyone. Pray for opportunities to share. Use I Peter 3:15

15 But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect,

Finally,

2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

Lets let God do his work and be open to what he is doing and do everything above that we can to get more of Him. God is always near us, but it is hard for us to be near Him. We have means. Let’s seek him more.
