God Almighty is Alive and Active
God Almighty is alive and active. Sure, no Christians deny that. But lets think on this.
Almighty is a weighty word and used over 300 times in the Bible. However, the New Testament does not use this phrase at all except to quote the Old. Well, it is used in Revelations 9 times.
Now, in between the Old Testament and Revelations, we learn about Jesus and even the Holy Spirit.
Jesus is certainly almighty. We do not call him King of Kings for nothing.
However, Jesus came in part that we might see better that God Almighty is also our Heavenly Father. Further, Jesus came as a humble servant. The Holy Spirit is named an Advocate.
God is certainly more tban we can fully understand.
When Jesus came, he matured our total undertanding of the God Head. He did not come to change God as God will not and need not change.
He also did not come to cancel God Almighty. Jesus did come to solve God’s anger/judgement over sin via Jesus Christ.
Grace and peace became the watchwords in the New Testament and not God Almighty.
God Almighty is Alive and not Retired
However, we should not put aside the awesomeness of our God. We also should not think that God will cancel the natural order every day for us. The Bible lists miracles, but over 2000 years of Bible time, there are a countable number and just at one location. Sow and reap is the normal world God puts us in.
However, God will always seek to bring the world to faith. He can. 2.3 Billion people is the best estimate of those who believe now. He is all in with the Holy Spirit knocking on the door of people we are reaching in our city now. He let’s us be a part of His work. It is awesome. God Almighty is calling the world to Himself. Small groups may be the best answer in an era where the traditional church is not as attractive to the new generation. Some others are now attracted to liturgy. God is working. There is a way to reach the lost in each place in each era as God Almighty is at work. That is what really counts. Let’s join Him and be awed by God Almighty.
