What God Desires

What God desires is a shift from our common thinking of what we want from God.

God made us and gave us the Earth and all the riches stored within it. He then descends to Earth as a man to show us his love and died to bring us home to Him.

Why does He love us? Of all creation, he only made humans in His image.  He makes them all in His image and never makes garbage. How could he just abandon those he makes in His image?

He must want something from us.

What God Desires Counts Most

God could overwhelm the earth with overt displays of his power and use angels to spread the good news. No one could deny God exists. God could fill the kingdom with obedient subjects as no one could deny his power.

However, Christianity developed under persecution for nearly 300 years and in 313 AD and onward Christianity became first legal and then the favored and finally the only authorized religion in the Roman empire.

This dramatic change led to building churches and and many people declaring faith, Men of true faith started to live on poles or in remote areas to be with God. They could not bear all the pretenders in the Church. I live in China where the government discourages Christian faith.  It does wonders for the purity of the Church. Yet, still the Church is not pure.

Further, he cares for us and does not want us to live meaningless lives.

He give the keys of the kingdom to the Apostles and not to the Angels. He gives us the job of spreading the good news. We are privileged to change the eternal destiny of people and make God happy at the same time. It also makes him happy when we take on the culture of the Kingdom.
