Easter-He Has Won For Us

Happy Resurrection Day or more traditionally, Happy Easter!. In my childhood, in the church, it was traditional to say, “He is risen!” and the response was “He is risen indeed!”
Easter Sunday is much more popular and happy than lent or Good Friday. Jesus said he was God, would rise again, and we need him to justify us, so we need him to rise, or we could not believe and could not be saved.
However, the key event is at the Cross. Jesus chooses the Cross and does not call down legions to save himself, and we are saved. Holiness has died that sinners might live.
But Easter is very good news.
Jesus has announced a revolution. He had said the first would be last, and the sinner was justified while the studious good person was refused as they were deceived. Jesus washes the disciples feet and says leaders should serve. He is announcing a revolution. However, the base reason he has come is to make the biggest revolution true.
The Cross and Easter Is the One Two Punch to Change the World
God is throwing open the gates to heaven and saying come. It is not about how much money you have or how much power you hold. It is about your faith. He is building a kingdom based on love and not fear as he has opened the gates and said ‘welcome to my kingdom‘ to sinners.
Only several hundred people had kind of caught the ball at the time of Jesus death, but it needed Jesus death to bring it to life, however, the source of life was dead. Did the kingdom He spoke of really win? Was it just nice words?
So at Easter– Jesus gives an emphatic yes to all that He has said and done when he rises from the grave in unassailable power. He has done it!–and the world will never be the same.
Praise be to God!! He has thrown open the gates of heaven, and let us know it is all true. Happy Easter.
